SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC2
I am new to this so bare with me please, in the admin panel it shows me this:

SMF File                  Your Version               Current Version

SMF Package            SMF 1.1 RC2               SMF 1.1 RC2
Sources                   1.1 RC2                      1.1 RC2-1
Default Templates     1.1 RC2                      1.1 RC2
Launguage Files        1.1 RC2                      1.1 RC2
Current Templates     1.1 RC1                      1.1 RC2

Where do I get the updates, what are they named, and are real good instructions with them?

My first forum, I do not know that much.

Thank You in advance for you help.

Go to Admin -> Package Manager and you should see information about a patch that you need to install. Downloading and installing that patch will update the Sources version. For the other problem, make sure you're using the most recent version of that particular theme. If it's a custom theme, see the Graphics and Templates board for information on upgrading your theme to work with 1.1RC2.

I tired that and this came up:

!!Error in Package Installation

At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

Installations actions for "SMF 1.0.7 / 1.1 RC2 Update":
Installing this package will perform the following actions:  Type Action Description
1. Execute Modification smf_1-1-RC2-1_patch.mod Modification parse error
2. Execute Modification firefox_1-5_fix.xml Modification parse error
3. Execute Modification - Modification parse error

Did I click the right thing to install? A security issue has been identified in SMF 1.1 RC2. You can install this patch (click here to install) to easily update yourself to the latest version.

I also see:
Modification Packages
Mod Name Version
1. SMF 1.0.7 / 1.1 RC2 Update 1.0  [ Apply Mod ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
2. SMF 1.0.7 / 1.1 RC2 Update 1.0  [ Apply Mod ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]

Is that the same thing?

Both packages are the same thing - not sure how you ended up getting two copies downloaded. If you don't have any other mods installed, just download the smf_1-1-rc2_upgrade package and re-upload all the Sources files from that package.

Just so I have this straight, I download that upgraded, then take the files in the sources folder and upload them to the sources folder in my forum?

Please talk down to me, I don't understand a lot about this stuff, It is trial and error here, big time newbie.

I see the confussion, I need to put my glasses on before I read for one thing, is it an UPGRADE, UPDATE, or PATCH, which is it that I need to do? I am sorry for taking up your time, I see that I have to go to a different board, my theme has been modified. Thank You so much for your time and effort.
