Receiving payments for forum registration

Hello,

I apologize if this issue has already been addressed. I searched this forum but could not find a conclusion to the issue.

Is there a feature created/endorsed by SMF developers for SMF 1.1 RC2 that obligates registrants to pay for their registration to a forum?  If so, where is it located?  Is it only compatible with PayPal?
