What is your setting for subdomain independent cookies in SMF?

Kindred

ebirrane,

no...   it is SUPPOSED to ask you for your password a second time when you attempt to access the SMF Admin section.   That's called admin security and is completely correct with the default settings of an SMF installation.

Kindred,

So *thats* what admin security is.  I had always wondered... ;)

Actually, it is not the same as the behaviour I see when using SMF standalone, so it confused me.  If I go directly to hxxp:localhost/smf [nonactive] log in as administrator, and then hit admin, I am not queried for my password again.  Therefore, I postulated that it was asking for the address twice because there was some cookie error.

Nonetheless, upon entering the admin password the second time, it gives me the same error:

"Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again."

Orstio,

Use subdomain independent cookies is unchecked.  I have tried this setting both checked and unchecked.

I'll start going through my web server, php install, and whatnot looking for permission problems. If you can provide any debugging guidance or areas to look into, it would be appreciated.
