Is there a way to turn off the forum temporarily?

Hi,

Is there a way to turn off the forums temporarily? Like "Website is Offine" in Joomla/ mambo.
My server is taking a lot of resources and is currently suspended, even though it is on a VPS! I need to turn the forum offline for sometime.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

From the Admin server settings>core configuration, you can put the forum in maintenance mode, which means that only those with admin status can access it.
