Folder Settings

Hello,

I am new to SMF, and I just finished upgrading my forum. I had to chmod many folders and files to 777 in order to get it to upgrade, but now that I am finished, I am wondering which folders and files I want to change write or execute protected. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thats bad advice
php files should be 644
folders 755

if you leave it at 777 and your on a shared host, your leaving yourself wide open
all my folders are 755 and all my php files are 644 and they work just fine.

another thing, chmod your config files 600
better safe than sorry
