Converted from phpBB 2.0.20 to 1.1 RC2 but slight attachment issue...

As stated in the subject the conversion went just fine after following a few good posts here on these boards. The issue I have is that all the inline attachments of images (.gif's, .jpeg's) are now shown as links at the bottom of each post.

If I start a new post and add an attachment which is an image file, it works great. Creates a nice thumbnail and it is displayed inline like it should be.

My question is, is there anything I can do to get my previous inline image attachments to show in the posts?

I have done a search on these boards for an answer and most who had a similar issue solved their issue by upgrading to latest version. Well I am running the latest version, and I am using themes which are compatible for 1.1 RC2. In fact even in the default theme the prior inline attachments only show as links. But as stated earlier, any new post I or anyone else makes with an image attachment works and displays just fine. It just seems like I need some sort of update script to make my old image attachments show.

I have tried to edit the post and then re-submit the post, but to no avail, the image attachment still showed as a link.

Thanks in advance,

Not sure if it can be done but go to Admin > Attachments and Avatars and click on maintain and that will check for errors with attachments.  It might fix it.

You know after looking more closely at this... it seems as though some are working and some are not. So I did some investigating. I had a mod on my phpBB forums which would resize images that were larger than 520 px wide. It's only those image attachments that are not working. The rest are displaying inline just fine.

No real big deal actually. I run a small board. I can just tell the people to edit their post and delete the attachment and then upload again and it will be fine.

@Jay - Thanks for the heads up on that setting. Never even seen it first time through all the settings. It found 62 errors of which were reporting wrong file sizes. I checked the box and said continue to fix them. All errors were fixed but those attachments not showing, still do not show. At least I am error free now though :)

My signatures encountered a smilar issue. The bbcode tags on a lot of sigs on my phpBB board looked like this...

[img:540:610]http://blah...blah/blah.../something.jpg[/img]

All those sigs just show the bbcode line in their signature. But if I edit the tag to show....

[
img]blah blah[/img]  *Note I had to move the beginning bracket to previous line else it showed a red x.

They work just fine. So I think the attachment resize mod I had is what is messing up some of the inline image attachments.

I would just like to take a moment to say that these forums ROCK!

Never ever again will I go back to phpBB. In fact I am going to recommend to my host that they should have these boards included in their fantastico options rather than phpBB. They would have to answer less questions such as "How do I upgrade my phpBB to the latest?" or "How do I install such and such mod or theme?".

SMF has made it so easy to upgrade, install, repair, its just simply awesome.
Kudos to the developers.
Consider my donation in the mail. This needs supporting and the devs need encouragement to keep supporting this top shelf product.

I guess it is related to that.  If you want to have a set width and height for the image you can just add widht=x and height=x on the img tag.
