SMF Profile enhancements?

Hello ladies and gents,

Complete newbie to both SMF and Joomla. I love my SMF forum, but I'm wondering what's the best route to go to add in more profile options for users. ex: more pictures, further detailed information about a user in their profile..so on. I've been looking around, but the search option on this forum isn't working for me right now. Any help would be appreciated.

Installed and new fields added. Which is nice. I'm still trying to figure out how creating a field will allow picture adding to profiles

In the text before a field you could do something like [img]http://and in the text after a field you could use[/img] (with parse bbc checked).

something like? Sorry, as I've stated I'm a complete newbie to this. I understand I could use the  bbcode with %1 so users wouldn't have to input a domain name linking to an image..potentially anyways. How would I tailor this so that they would upload via their PC and it would be placed into their profile?

This mod won't let you upload images, just put in a link to them (sorry about just saying something like, I put in more stuff but it included a [img] tag and i for got to put in [nobbc].

Gotcha. Thankyou for all the help. Hopefully one day someone will develope a mod that will allow users to upload as well as user allowed titles for said images. Would be an excellent marketing tool for SE's.

are you tryng to upload an avater? you already have that facility with smf

go into admin

avatars and attatchments

and you can change settings and things there....

no, LJ....   he wants the capability to add additional pictures to the profile... not avatars.
