news fader bug

In SMF 1.1 RC2, the news fader has an ugly, almost unreadable, bold font. I looked through other posts and found I'm not the only one with this problem. Anyone know how to fix this?
People cannot gain anything without giving something in return.

 I belive whole fader script is buggy.
