RSS bug leads to invalid XML

Hi Group,

I've been struggling this week to set up an RSS feed to a board i've only recently set up, and in the process discovered a bug.  (i hear the brows rising questionably...)

After trying in vain to get a feed to load, i tried validating it at the W3C (hxxp:validator.w3.org/feed/ [nonactive]) and it failed.  Then i loaded it in Firefox and found that it did not even validate as XML.

The problem appears to be that the article was cut off in the middle of an escaped character.  So I changed the maximum feed length from 255 to 0, and the feed then validated.

Here's some links so you can see the before and after:
  hxxp:www.excel.net/~wwwtest/test.rss.xml [nonactive]
  hxxp:www.excel.net/~wwwtest/test4.rss.xml [nonactive]

You'll see that it was just luck that the article would get truncated in just the right spot to mess everything up, but hopefully it was not all in vain.

Good luck,

~b

How can I change the feed length? Somewhere in the admin menu?

whoops.  that should have said "maximum length" instead of "minimum length"... i fixed it.

Anyway, to answer your question:

go to admin --> News and newsletters --> settings
