Smtp issue

I am using smtp , but i want use php , how do i do that, and how does it work.. Please I mean to send email.. With smtp no one can recieve email but it tell me sent.. but i think it is my smtp provider problem..

To switch to PHP mail, under Feature Configuration, select PHP default as the mail type.  If you want to know how PHP mail functions work, visit the PHP site and read all about it:
