I tried to install smf1.1rc2 instead of 1.0.7 since I got error in conversion. I tried with 1.1rc2 and I got a different error message. Does someone know what the problem is this time?

It's getting a bit urgent since the web hotel I host my IPB forum on upgraded and I cant get that forum to work after their upgrade either. *sigh*

Converting permissions... Unsuccessful!

Caused the error:

Please make sure you are using the new convert.php for 1.1 rc 2 and latest converter for 1.0

Also check you are using the right converter for your version of IPB (converters are available for 1.3, 2.0.x and 2.1.x)

Thanks for replies. I am using the correct converter and sql file. The forum actually converts somehow, all posts and categories are present, but no users... and no way for me to log in as admin either. Anyone that can help me get the converter to work so it does the users as well ?

Sirjump

Ok I managed to make it work by just removing this line:

g_edit_topic AS modify_any, g_open_close_posts AS lock_any

The same situation happened again later in the conversion, so I removed the line with the problem once more and it worked. I got some small bugs when I started the forum but the forum itself were able to correct the errors and sort the tables.

I am now an official SMF user  8)

Yes I used that one, and just erased 2 lines from it. Everything works fine now, though as I wrote before, the tables had to be fixed by the forum afterwards. I am not sure, but I think the problem was that some usernames were in the database file but didnt have any values...

Um weird.  It might be cause of that but that line you posted I believe deals with the locking of posts.
