I loaded all the files and when I try to run the upgrade.php it says that the upgrader has detected old files.  I looked at the 1.07 upgrade file that I downloaded and the settings.php and the setting_bak.php is not there.  Could these be the files that the upgrader is talking about? If not how do I fix this problem?

mcabs, those files I wouldn't think would be in the upgrade since it needs the database details to upgrade successfully.

Try looking FTP with your view set to "details"

(Just overwrite mainly sources & themes and other files :P)

And there may be old language files, if you are running a non-english forum.

If you have no mods installed delete all files except for the avatars folder, attachments folder, settings.php and settings_bak.php.

Then reupload all files except install.php and settings.php from a 1.0.7 install zip file. Then upload upgrade.php and SQL file in the upgrade package and run the upgrade.php file in your browser (http://www.mysite.com/forum/upgrade.php)

Are you certain that your FTP client is overwriting the files?
