I had a problem with URL direction a while back with an old version of smf/bridge, which i fixed with help from here, but i have recently installed the latest version of both... and a similair problem has resurfaced.

Anyway, the bridge re-direction is fine, if i log in from any page with the bridge login module it returns me to that page.

But if i log in from the actual forum component (mambo 4.5.2, it is wrapped), it re-directs me to the home page. Not sure what the bridge has changed, sure its a very simple fix but iv trawled through a few files and cant seem to figure it out.

COuld someone tell me what i need to change for it to re-direct back to the forum page insstead of the home page?

This is literally the last thing to do on this site im making for someone promise hehe. And cant thank you all enough for your help thus far you guys rock!!!  8)

Do you have a URL?

What are your redirect settings in the bridge login module?

hi, sorry for the late reply been away all weekend.

url is http://www.iconband.co.uk/home/index.php?

username: testlogin

password: testpw

my settings in the smf module (for both login and logout) are set to 'back to page the user logged in/out from'.

BUT.. if i login from the forums own login box (at the top of the template) it takes me back to the home page everytime. if i login from any other pager using the mambo smf tho however it re-directs me back to the page i logged in from. so the re-direct from there is working fine. is it a setting within the forum rather than the bridge possibly?

I've been playing around with Joomla 1.0.8+smf 1.1RC2 using the 1.1.4 bridge, and ive got the exact same problem.

Logging in/out from a Joomla page, redirect me back to the correct page, logging in from the forum, are redirecting me back to the last Joomla page i was on.

Splinter...

I notice that the forum menu item points to:
http://www.iconband.co.uk/home/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=67

while the registration from the login module is pointing to:
http://www.iconband.co.uk/home/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=51&action=register

seems to indicate that you have either a) added multiple menu objects pointing to the forum component (bad idea) or b) not emptied the trash of your old menu items.

second of all...   most of us actually comment out the login box in the forum itself (as well as the login, logout and regsitration buttons)
After all, how the heck is the MODULE supposed to know what to do with a login/logout that is done from the FORUM (e.g. outside the module itself).

Splinter:  The bridge login module does not appear on your wrapped forum page.  That means that the session variable that is set by the login module to store "the page from which the user logged in" is not there.  I'm guessing the last page that the login module hada chance to set the session variable was the home page, which is why it redirects there.

ah this is indeed why, good catch man  :). i just didnt really like the look of having two pictures on the page (one on module, one on forum component) so took out the module. iv re-added it and it works fine now so il just do what kindred said i think and comment out a few bits of code to get it looking how i want it.

thanks alot for the help guys!! SO much appreciated!
