Need help with adding something to a theme

Hello,

My question today is how do i go about adding an additional box to the left side of my page?  I have a .swf file which i would like on my main page.  Here is the code for the flash.

ive basically copied the code for the search box and created a new one where i want it and drop this flash code in there instead of the search code.  It totally messes up my page though.  It does indeed show the flash file as because the flash code is correct but i dont know how to make it sit nicely on the left side of the page.  my site is

any help on this is greatly appreciated.
