Upgrade to SMF 1.1 Now?

I am currently using SMF 1.0.7, and I have trouble installing many mods. IIt's partly because the mods were not developed for SMF 1.0.7. Should I upgrade to RC2 now, or wait for the real release? I want the features of RC2 but don't want to risk messing up my forum (not counting the fact that there isn't much to mess up; I have no members and 2 posts, by me; this is off topic).

SMF 1.1 RC2 is still a beta release and as such may contain a few bugs. If you don't mind this then by all means upgrade as there are quite a few themes / mods that have only been made for 1.1 RC2.

Note however that all mods / theme for 1.0 - 1.0.6 will still work with 1.0.7 ;)

Not always the case. The package manager sometimes gives me an error saying that the package is either corrupt or isn't compatible with my version of SMF. Would you reccomend upgrading to avoid this problem, and to get more features? Also, does RC2 contain any major bugs that could cause trouble?

Edit: Decision made, upgrading now.

Any ideas when RC2 will be cleared for takeoff?

LainaaNot always the case. The package manager sometimes gives me an error saying that the package is either corrupt or isn't compatible with my version of SMF.

Usually this is because the mod author has set the mod to a definite version (e.g. 1.0.6 rather than 1.0.x, where x is any patch revision)

1.1 RC3 or 1.1 final will be released very soon (probably 3 months tops) ;)
