Script Error

OK, I uploaded all the files and when I go to the install.php address,this page comes up. hxxp:yellowhairedguy20.awardspace.com/forum/install.php [nonactive]<- Click Here.

first of all, make sure your uploading using ascii, otherwise it all gets corrupted.

permissions can be tricky and they vary from host to host, try chmod folders 0755
and all your files 0644.

as far as script errors go, theres nothing wrong with SMF, more often than not, a 500
error indicates wrong permissions.

if i am mistaken, someone here will correct me.

yes, i didn't mention that particular folder cause all of my folders are 0755

Meh I didn't read your post correctly.

Also CHMOD your files to 755 not 644.

YAY!!! It worked.

My install.php file was fine, it was just that the directory's permissions weren't set correctly.

I thought there were supposesd to be CHMOD'd to 777?  Maybe this is my problem, too.  Which files need to be 755?

sturgis in some systems they have php Suexec installed so you need to chmod the files to 755 instead of 777.
