Please Disable The Auto Fetch Feature of Packages and Stuff from This site .....

Hello,
Can some admin/mod developer tell me how to disable the auto fetch feature of news and packages and make it mannual update option cause i  couldnt install a mod cause it just kept saying

Attempting to fetch the most popular and recent packages from www.simplemachines.org...

And which means smf site was down, so can someone tell me how to get rid of that option as to be frank its annoying and slows down my admin panel and whats more important this smf site is getting loaded cause of that and it will help improve smf sites speed also.

Seofriendly,if it doesn't fetch the packages then you've got an problem with your theme and i agree to. I still recommend a feature which allows you to check for news & version checks

Drawing stuff from Simplemachines.org occurs more than just the Package Manager. Its on the main page of the Admin Ceneter and the Themes page too.

And which files to edit to remove that auto fetch cause it causes my site load slow (well atleast admin panel) and is also causing  unnessary load on SMF site itself. Well if this feature cannot be put in next update can alteast some mod tell me which files to edit and which lines to comment out.

EDIT: In 1.1 RC3 (i.e. the NEXT release) if you run:

Koodi [Valitse] Laajenna


REPLACE INTO smf_settings (variable, value) VALUES ('disable_smf_js', 1)


In phpMyAdmin it will disable them.

No - as I only just added it.

To stop the main stuff now simply open Admin.template.php look for ".js" and remove any line that loads a .js file from simplemachines.org
