I'd really love the ability as admin to post html and flash and have all users view it. But NOT give them the ability to do so.

How exactly? The only way I see enables it for all users to post.

What version of SMF are you using?  In RC2, admins can post flash without any special settings, but other users can just view the embedded flash.

I'm not certain it's the same with basic html tags.

Neither works in RC2. You can only post flash if you enable posting flash. Otherwise its converted to a  link. If you enable posting flash everyone can post not just admins.

I'm gonna post the same thing.

It's because I want to enable flash to make the forum lively.
But I'm afraid that some user will abuse it by making a flash that make you download a trojan from the net. Or a keylogger and set the flash width and heigh to 0,0

Use the [html][/html] tags to post it. Only admins can use those.

Yes. anything in those tags gets outputted exactly the same.

Okay, but where I am able to set this up in the admin panel? When I post a flash with [flash=x,y]http://url to swf[/flash] then i just can see the link but no embedded flash.

LainaaThis mod will add permissions for every BBC tag. They can be changed in the global permissions for each membergroup. If a member is in a group that isn't allowed to use a tag, the tag won't be parsed. This mod also works for custom tags added in other mods.
