Help Please! Warning - you cannot create or install a new theme

How do I fix this?

"Warning - you cannot create or install a new theme as your themes directory is not currently writable!"

Anyhelp would be appreciated.

Thank you.  I searched endlessly for this information, but I guess I didn't look in the right place.  All I had to do was right click the themes directory and click a few boxes.
