SMF site was down yesterday - SMF hacked?

I kept getting db errors here on smf and couldnt view anything not even mods section so what happened did someone hack smf or something else was the problem?

A certain half awake developer corrected a problem with a file, committed to the CVS, and then uploaded it, not realizing that there was a version mismatch due to other changes made to that file.

So no we didn't get hacked, I'm quite capable of screwing it up without outside help

Have the downtimes, lags and search cutoffs here lately all been from that bunch of maintenance, Thantos?

No.  Only the outage was a result of my action.  The lags and stuff basically have to do with us pushing the server to the max, though we are working on that also.

One solution to lower load is to disable that auto fetch feature under packages section admin its seriously an overkill.

I agree.
I have a couple (3-4) of local installations to test things. Everytime I enter the admin section the news loads. Now that's an overkill. Those are empty forum on my local computer.
An option to disable it would be the best.
