CSS conflicts?

Since I bridged Joomla with SMF, I cant seem to be able to set a background image or a color.  It seems to default to white no matter what.  Has anybody else gotten this problem?

yet another person who doesn't reaqd the stickies.....   


you will have to merge the CSS files (smf's and joomla's) into joomla's CSS, merge or remove the duplicate tags (like body, for example) and remove the call for smf's style.css in the system mambot that the bridge installed.
