Changing a few things?

Hopefully this is simple enough to understand...

How do I change the name "Child board" to something else, say "sub-forum"
Also, how do I change the background of my Chatbox to something other than the background of the board. It's conflicting.

You can change language strings in the files under SMF/Themes/default/languages/. Not having access to the actual files at this workstation, my best guess would be to look for that string in index.english.php. Also, remember that these files usually get replaced when you update SMF version.

Changing the background of your shoutbox requires some changes to the modification.
Open sboxDB.php, the file that generates the shoutbox page.
Find

Koodi [Valitse] Laajenna

body
{
padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
background-color: #E5E5E8;
}
Replace with

Koodi [Valitse] Laajenna

body
{
padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
background-color: #E5E5E8;
background-image: none;
}
This may cause some other conflict if I've overlooked something, if it does just report back here.

Ok the Child board thing worked perfectly

The sbox changes didn't budge... I did just as you said, and even with those settings, it stays the same on my board, with the background still intact.

Hmm, I was thinking too complicated. Just remove the line that generates the code below from sboxDB.php:

Koodi [Valitse] Laajenna

The url is generated from within SMF, but the line generating this is located somewhere near the top of the file.
