Forum Log

I have installed SMF fine, but keep getting Forum log errors reporting that /home/sites/<domainname and path to smf> is invalid.
However if I try and remove the /home/sites to reflect the http://<domainname> it flips it back to /home/sites/

How do I correct this?
The url structure I have used for my forum is:
http://www.<domainname.co.uk>/smf/
