How does "Search Method" and "Weight" work in Admin/Forum/Search/ - Can't find

SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC2
I've upgraded from Version 1.07 to 1.1 RC2 and now find my old posts aren't searchable.

I have over 30k posts, so perhaps this is a bug.  But can't find posts and topics when I make a search.

Any ideas?

Try makeing a search index. Admin -> Search -> Search Method
