How to add forum in my table

Is it possible to add forum in my site design.
I have navigation on top and left side.

So, i just want to change header and footer of existing template.
How to do that?

I dont understand in "Integrating the forum into your site..." tutorial where to save my header and footer files?
and in which file to add "include('header.php');" ?
