Locked myself out of Joomla admin after group synch

Joomla 1.09
smf 1.1rc2

I read through the threads here and found the solution given  on joomlaspan..I followed them to the tee..(I believe)..and this still didnt get me back into my joomla back end.

This of course compounds my issue because I can only set the permissions correctly...in the joomla backend so that I can edit the smf.php file...

any help would be greatly appreciated..
