Safe Mode?! I cant instal any mods or themes :/

Whenever I try to add a theme or install a mod I get the same

I dont know what to do, ive been looking for a Safe Mode thing, but have had no luck.

Remove the folder named bluBlur in your Themes directory.
Recreate it, and chmod to 77. Then reinstall the theme. It should do the trick.

Hey Elmacik,

I removed the folder, but I dont know how to chmod it. Its not only with the themes, that was just an example of one of the times it did it. I get the same results with mods as well.

I know you get it with mods as well. Because its the same thing.
Chmod is a way of setting permission of files.
With an FTP client, login to your site, do the things I told above.
-- To chmod a file or folder, right click onto it in the FTP client.
You should see something like "Attributes" or "Chmod" in that menu.
Click it and set the numeric value to 777 then click "Ok"

They are already set to 777. Heres a step by step of what im doing

Download the theme in Zip
Go to Theme and layout settings
Upload from file
Select the zip file
Leave from server blank
create copy of default "theme1"
Then install

I already checked the chmod settings and they were all set to 777

your host has php safe mode enabled, ask them to change it

@Gig-guru, you shouldnt create a copy of default theme. Try it with emptying that part.
If it either doesnt work, you can do the following suggestion which will greatly work for you:
1- Unzip the theme file you downloaded either in your computer or in your server using a filemanager.
2- If you unzipped the content in your computer, upload the folder itself to your /Themes directory. If you unzipped the content directly in the server, move it to the /Themes directory.
3- Go to your administration control panel and click onto "Themes and Layout"
Under the "Install a new Theme" title, you will see three options. First one is uploading the zip file (which is you tried)
Second one is selecting a directory on the server. And third one is copying the default theme into another folder.
Ignore the 1st and 3rd options. Into the second box, write the new folder you uploaded into /Themes directory.
4- Click "Install"

It should do it now..

@Scubasteve, you can still install themes and mods while sade_mod is on.

Mine never did with the old host. Then they turned it off and viola.
