Resize Avatar on the index.template.php

Hi,
I'm running a customized version of Bloc's template, and The header size is basically like SMF's defaults but I'd  like to resize the avatar of the logged in user that's shown in the header to 50x50 so it's not that big.
Can this be done with any special code?. I'va all the avatars in 100x100px maximum.
