store mosuser store failed

Had a bit of a nightmare since joomla1.0.10 installation.

After installing I had a problem with jaclplus component which meant I had to restore the site. The bridge then didn't work properly - users weren't logged in to Joomla but were SMF. So tried to uninstall the bridge so could do a fresh install but it didn't seem to uninstall properly as when I tried to reinstall it gave error messages for duplicate entries in the database.

So I gave up and restored a backup + restored database backup but now new users can't register for the site - If you try you get the error "store mosuser store failed"

Solved part of the problem - in the jos_user table the id field wasn't set to auto increment

It now is and users can register through communty builder but when they then try and log in it gets stuck at the 'smd password security has been upgraded page' - it won't accept the password - just stays at that page.

Tried registration with the bridge and that just goes to the smf error page.

think I might have sorted it  The memberID in smf table also wasn't set to auto increment - both must have changed when I restored them
