Adding Text Links to Link bar?

Hi everyone,
I was just messing around with a theme for my board and I'm not all that great with PHP code. I am using a theme based off of the original SMF theme (the same one being used on these boards) and I want to add a link to my link bar THAT IS TEXT (not an image) and is linking to another part of the website. I tried copying code from the "Home" link & modifying it and I could get it to go to the URL I wanted it to, but I couldn't get the text to switch from "Home" to what I wanted it to be.

If anyone could please post the code to create a new text-based button for the link bar, I would GREATLY appreciate it!

I assume you are using a theme based off the 1.1 RC2 default theme?
