anyone know to dealth with UTF-8 Characters

hi

i installed [postprefix] mod couple of days ago
but there's problem surrouding me, which is
the mod could not support chinese word... when i enter the chinese word in the 'List of prefix to show before a post.: ' which is in the control panel, it end up with the random coding...
for example if i type:   [原创] , it end up with something like this>>>> &395678&,
anyone have a way to solve this problem?
