SMF Version: SMF 1.0.7
this is did i installed it through fantastico, on my site provider. i got 1.0.7 and it doesnt ask me to update yet i know there is a 1.1 rc2 so i got it, the update and ftp'ed it into my forum file. all well but when it says to type in www.domain.com/forum/upgrade.php [nofollow] i get - page cannot be found - displayed ... nothing. so when i put in a more accurate url of
http://domain.com/forum/smf_1-1-rc2_upgrade/upgrade.php [nofollow] i get this -

Warning: main(/usr/home/username/public_html/forum/smf_1-1-rc2_upgrade/Settings.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/username/public_html/forum/smf_1-1-rc2_upgrade/upgrade.php on line 42

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/usr/home/username/public_html/forum/smf_1-1-rc2_upgrade/Settings.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /usr/home/username/public_html/forum/smf_1-1-rc2_upgrade/upgrade.php on line 42

ok username and forum are not the real names but a substitue to keep my info private. but what now? i even made sure a couple files were set at 666 and at 777.  so now i have all these files uploaded and i'm still at 1.0.7 so am i gonna crash my forum soon? i did make a back up, yet i do not knnow what to do with the backup file, what the proceedure is, if i have to do a back up cause of this.

inside my admin in the packaghe manager section says i have

SMF 1.0.7 / 1.1 RC2 Update 1.0   and even has it set for uninstall meaning i have it yet on the bottom page of the forum says 1.0.7 so obviously is isnt upgraded yet it says it is cause it offers me to uninstall it so what gives?

To upgrade you need to copy the files over the top of the old 1.0.7 files.

Also, make sure to make a database backup before trying to upgrade as a safety measure.
