$user_info['groups']

I just saw that in another post.
Does that variable include Primary and Additional Member groups in one?
I created my own SSI function because none of the current functions were able to do what I was looking for. I have it looking at the users group via mysql. But if that is already set up I could just add user_info into global and call it through there if it seachs both of the groups.
