it seems to be just refreshing and refreshing.. ?

tail of the url is..   upgrade.php?step=5;p=6;conv=1;maint=1

over 2 hrs in so far.... it has backed up the tables, and appears to have created some...

and yes its still open/refreshing/counting down in my browser

If the board was large, then it's possible it may take a very long time. 2 hours does seems a bit long though, all I can suggest is leaving it going and seeing if one of the devs offer any other suggestions.

ok thanks.. its pretty large i guess.... 335 meg.. it appears to have finished messing with the database from what i can see (size in cpanel was varying a lot earlier..)

i'm just gonna go back to bed for now then lol

Overseer

ok let me see.. started this at 10 ish... its now nearly 4pm...

still going in a loop.. i'm gonna stop it. put my yse tables back and run it with the extra output..

on the case again. with the debug output this time...

already up to..

Converting attachments, topics, and messages...
Converting "messages" (part 6)...    Converting "messages" (part 6)...    Converting "messages" (part 6)...    Converting "messages" (part 6)...    Converting "messages" (part 6)...    Converting "messages" (part 6)...    Converting "messages" (part 6)...    Converting "messages" (part 6)...    Converting "messages" (part 6)... Incomplete.

the address now matches as before.. >> upgrade.php?step=5;p=6;conv=1;maint=1;debug=1

and it prints roughly the same every time it refreshes... seen between 7 and 12 repeats of "Converting "messages" (part 6)... " so far.. guess its a good sign its working on it..

but 5 hours again... at least... :(  (just fyi my forum has 597,750 entries in _messages)

Hmmm, not sure what to suggest really, apart from waiting for [Unknown] or someone to come online and see what they suggest :(.

Tell me the result of this query, please:

SELECT COUNT(ID_MSG)
FROM prefix_messages
WHERE ID_BOARD = 0;

the result is 564279

for 'not like' the result is 33471

total records =  597750

(597750 minus 33471 is... 564279 )

Just have a problem where my forum is down and wanted to get it back up for the community at my site as well.

To be honest, if it's a different problem on a different forum, you really should have opened a new thread for it...
