[solved] activation email not sent / Is this a bug?

My board is sending PM and announcement notifications just fine, but it's not sending activation e-mails.  Any ideas why this is happening?

Do you have your method of registration employed for new members set to Member Activation?

Some mail services, may confuse the SMF Activation email as spam, so try checking your bulk folder.

That wasn't it, the e-mails were not being sent at all, bulk folder or not.

I actually had the SMTP information set and the forums on sendmail which was causing problems.  Removing the SMTP information fixed it.

did you fix it by selecting SMTP?

On Outlook my email username = [email protected]

I don't think my users are getting the activation emails so should my username on SMF be:
name (only?)

or name+site.com .....does it recognise the @ symbol?
