check username availability

i dont really need this for any of my forums yet, but would like this to be something for the future. when a person is filling things out to register on the forum, next to the username box would be a button to "check availability" which they could click. then it would create a popup letting them know if that name is in use or not without all the page refreshing until they get a name not taken.
