Please download it from the new bridge downloads page:

First of all, thank you to everyone who reported the bugs and added feature requests in 1.1.6. Your reports have made this a better bridge.

This bridge is compatible only with SMF 1.1.x. I strongly suggest you upgrade if you plan to bridge your forum with Joomla.

For new installs:

Unzip the package, and find inside two files:  readme.html and com_smf.zip. Read the readme.html, and install the com_smf.zip as a component. (Don't forget to configure the component after installing!)

For upgrades from previous versions:

For anything previous to bridge 1.1.6, please uninstall the bridge and reinstall as per the above instructions.

For upgrades from bridge 1.1.6, find attached to this post the upgrade file.  Unzip it, and upload the unzipped contents to your Joomla root directory. Go to your bridge configuration, and in the "Upgrade" tab, click on the button. This will update any database information for the new bridge.

New features

Obviously, the Upgrade Tab in the admin panel is a new feature. ;)

The login module now changes languages with components such as Joom!Fish.

Third party SEF components such as ArtioSEF and SEFAdvance have been reported to work with this bridge.

This bridge is released under the terms of the Simple Machines license. Please do not redistribute.

Kindred

The bridge for SMF and Joomla is currently unavailable while Joomla tries to figure out exactly what the GPL license says and the rest of us try to figure out how this affects nonGPL software that ties in to Joomla. According to the current interpretation (by Joomla), the joomla-smf bridge is in violation of the GPL. Because SMF developers try to adhere to the license restrictions of other softwares, just as we expect others to respect our license, we have removed the joomla-smf bridge pending a decision on whether we can actually create something that fits both license restrictions.

Orstio is looking at options on how to handle it.
