I wounder why do we have to use these tags (<?php ?>) to highlight the code ?
I mean sometimes I want to show apart of the code and I want to highlight it to make it clearer .. but it looks creepy to type :
<?php $stupid="tag"; ?> just to show this variable !  I am not saying I will only show varibales .. but ....

THE JUICE: having tags is better ... :P

EDIT: also as you can see .. it doesn't allow any other taga to work while <?php is there....

We don't need a reason to help people

I believe the actual tag is [php] but just like if you type in a url it autodetects that.
This space for rent.

It's been changed to [ php ].  Further, it functions just like [ code ] - you can't put [ pre ] or [ s ] around [ code ], can you?
