I was installing some mods on the forum then everything stopped working.
I don't know what happened, and i don't know how to fix it.  =x
I only get the message:

I have version 1.1.3 and was installing the Sarcasmics smiley set.

And just before i just installed the SMF Gallery and creating a test gallery and uploading a photo. The photo loaded correctly, but i had a member on who said she wasn't seeing the gallery link on top. so i was browsing through the settings then i got the error.
(i was installing the smiley set and at the same time looking at the gallery)
So im not sure which one triggered the error.

@J-xToF, log in to your ftp client and have a look at the settings.php file if it got corrupted or anything like that. If so, rename the settings_bak.php to settings.php and make a duplicate of the new settings.php as settings_bak.php. Hope it didn''t sound too complicated

I checked it out, and it didnt seemed correpted. But i still replaced it with the bak.
But its still not working.  =/  same error.




K i solved it. I was stupid, now i watched at the error message closely and decided to browse through these folders.
I noticed it was looking for QueryString.php in there

Failed opening required '/home/jxtofat/public_html/smf/Sources/QueryString.php'

well, my smf forums is installed not in SMF but in Forums, i think because of some mods i was installing , it probably thought i installed the smf forums in the smf folder as default.
Or maybe its me who didnt set up something right....
well anyway its working now.
I made a copy of the sources folder from forums to the smf folder.

Is there a way so that this kind or error doesn't happen again?




New problem. Now i cant install new packages. Always says
An Error Has Occurred!
The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted.

Also all the packages i installed previously are missing.
View and Remove Installed Packages
No mods currently installed

Maybe you should make a complete backup adn then install the forum from scratch again. It sounds to me that one of the scripts is messed up. Remember: Installing mods is always a risk.

Oh i forgot to say it here. I solved the problem.
My smiley packages path was wrong. And when installing the smiley pack, it changed something in my settings.php or something.
Now i made all path correct again.
And the list of mods is correctly set.
But to be sure, i deleted all the mods, then re-upload and re-install.

(also seems that it installed mods that werent supposed to be compatible with my boards)
