I can't figure this out - I've had a forum for many years, upgraded from YaBB-> YaBB SE-> SMF.

Anyway, I've been making forum-specific templates, and since it wants to copy the DEFAULT template every time, and my actually template is the Converted, I figured I'd just copy over the default.

Well that douched my whole board. I was getting some copyright error, couldn't even get into the admin... I was able to reinstall to another directory and connect to my database, and everything seems okay now except that when I log in as admin I get this message across the top:

The default theme's directory is wrong, please correct it by clicking this text.

It's pointed to the correct directory, so I don't know what to do here.

Try using the repair_settings.php file from the Convertors and Tools section of the download page. Upload that to your forum directory and run it. Use the recommended values and it should work fine.

I tried that, but I don't think that tool addresses the area causing this error. I think it has to be something in the database, I'm running a fresh install with no static files in common.

I registered in your forum as user "andrea". Looks like the forum is fully working but some path settings are wrong. If you wish you can make my account a temporary admin for  double checking your forum settings...

Great, I set you to admin - any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I can't figure it out.

I have changed the default theme directory. Now the theme looks ok with MSIE. However still wrong with Firefox.

Also it looks like the default theme files are mixed up with classical theme files, at least some images look like from the classical theme.

Did you modify default theme files? Also the classical theme is not among the installed themes, 2 more themes are there, both with wrong theme folders.

Can you reupload all RC2 default theme files fresh from the download site?

What did you change and where?? You fixed the issue, whatever you did. Does the fresh installed default theme look okay in Firefox? The fonts never worked for me, even before I corrupted my board.

Nevermind, it isn't fixed. The error is gone, but I can't switch templates. The default just stays.

All I have changed is the "This theme's directory" in the default theme.  You had the URL there instead of the PATH (that means "http...." instead of "/home/....").

Only with MSIE it looks ok to me, not with Firefox. Refreshing with Firefox does not help. And as I wrote the other themes have wrong path settings since they do not work at all.

If you wish you can you PM me your FTP info?

Hi

I uploaded the helios theme files and activated this helios theme properly. For me this theme and the default theme as well still work properly with MSIE only - not with Firefox.

So I uploaded the default theme files new which had no effect.

The default theme looks with Firefox as if style.css were not recognized.

Question: did you install any mods? If not I will try if it helps to reupload all Sources.

I jsut converted from YABBse to SMF and moved servers at the same time
but the theme we were using on YABBse is still referencing the old site url
I cant see where it needs changing to the new server url.

i ran the repair_settings.php but that doesnt seem to have recitifed it.

can you point me in the right direction ???  (the Settings.php is all pointed to the new server)

Browse to your admin menu and check your theme path settings. The repair_settings tool sometimes only fixes the path settings of the default theme.

The style.css isn't working because it's being sent as text/plain - it should be text/css.

I would contact your host about this.  You can also use .htaccess to fix it.

I can fix that manually in httpd.conf right?
