Can images and html codes be used in news and newsletters section to display in the board index?
i want a pic to b displayed..
if yes how?

Yes it can.  You can use full HTML in your news display.  Be sure to configure it as full correct HTML.

In the News section, just type in all the HTML you want for that News item.
