Hello,

Im not sure following question is in the right board but I will give it a try.

I have at once a problem with one of the SSI Include functions.

It 's the "Login/logout"  function:

You can check iin my forum with usename test- password test.
When ever you go to my portal it shows like you're always a 'guest'.
As soon as you enter the forum by clicking one of the links you will see you're already logged in.

Portal: www.muziek4um.nl
forum: www.muziek4um.nl/forum/

username: test
password: test

Anybody experience with this? In that case: PLEASE HELP!!!

Maybe interesting to know: recently my Host changed from server and therefor some modifications on linking stuff had to be made, things like  /home/resellers/841289/841289/muziek4um.nl/www/forum/SSI.php and the image dirs and more like this, however until now everything seemed to be working fine . Other SSI includes do work fine. But still since that migration the problem started. IS there something Im forgetting?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Ed

It is working ok for me .. maybe it is some cache problem with your browser .. try cleaning your browser cookies and see if it helps.
Really sorry .. real life is demanding my full attention .. will be back soon hopefully :)

Happy New year!!!

Tnx for the response guys.

But really try going back to www.muziek4um.nl after you have logged in please. It will show you as a guest.

I already deleted all cookies cause that was the first thing I thaught  too.

But also more forum members have the same problem too, and I tried myself on 3 ps's and 1 mac, with several browsers (mozilla, firefox, netscape and IE.).

No hurry with this guys cause it's new years day so take it easy.
tnx,
Ed

Somebody any advice?

Finally I noticed that it just doesnt work anymore and all started after my host changed the server.

I really checked evrything and put back backups to be sure each file was original and not corrupt but the problem still there.

Could it be something on the server of my host and if so what can I tell him/ask him to do?

Tnx in advance for any advice in this direction.

am still logged in .. tried in both FF and IE. I do not really know what is causing this, but you may want to try changing the cookie name: Admin -> Edit Server Settings

Thanks for the reply A.M.A.

I tried changing the cookie name but it keeps saying...

Welcome, Guest. Please login or register.
Did you miss your activation email?

8 Guests, 4 Users

... as soons as I go back to the portal. And also shows the Login window from
<?php ssi_login(); ?>

On the forum itself it all works properly and keeps people logged in.
The problem is only when one goes back to the portal.

Another smf user had the same problem:
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=19223.msg156167#msg156167

Once I had the impression that it was working on Netscape so when I returned to the portal the first time it recognised me as being logged in, but then I refreshed the page and again it showed me as guest.

As I told before   More users on my forum have the problem and I the remarkable thing is they all have Tiscali or Chello as ISP ( Tiscali as ADSL provider and Chello is Kabel). Before none of them had the problem. Other users still didn't complain. So maybe that combination with the ISP's and the  migration to another server from the host im running on or so. ???  Thats because i also noticed the ftp works different then before. Maybe I'm looking to far but I dont know where to look anymore.

Thanks for in case some body has more suggestions or advice.

Your main page is not properly handling sessions.

Are you 105% sure that the VERY FIRST LINE of your PHP file includes SSI.php?

Yes. thanx, thats what I meant.

But the first line does say:
<?php require("/home/resellers/841289/841289/muziek4um.nl/www/forum/SSI.php"); ?>

I Already figured out where the problem was when changed my durrect template to the Default theme,  then all worked,

So I uploaded the original index.template.php  of my current theme and the login issue is gone.

I must have changed there somthing one day which I really dont remember.

Fortunately now it all works in IE. Not yet in Firefox for the moment but there it doesn't work at all so thats an another issue :D.
