PM Addressee and Insert Quote Problems

Two issues recently came up:

1. When I go to send a new PM and start typing the member's name, after 3 or 4 characters the text changes to "admin" regardless of what letters I start to type. Previously, the auto-complete feature worked fine and would pre-fill the member name correctly. All members appear to be experiencing this now.

2. Click reply inside a thread. On the bottom, click Insert Quote next to a previous post. Nothing is inserted in the reply body. In IE there is a js error of "object required" line 815, character 22, code 0. Nothing I can see in the Error Log in firefox.

I did recently attempt to install the Ignore User mod, but could quite figure out all the custom changes I needed to make. To troubleshoot the above issues, today I uninstalled the mod completely and, to make sure, manually reverted back every single Source and Theme file (default and my custom ones) to the pre-modded versions.

Installed versions and mods:
SMF 1.1.5
TP 1.052

Repeatable on MSIE 7 and FF2 and FF3. Same issues using default theme.

TIA for the help.

Was that PM issue before or after the Ignore User mod install? Did you make any other changes to the forum?

So the Insert Quote is still not working after you remove it? Look back at the files again to confirm they are indeed all reverted back to the original SMF code before the modifications.

The PM issue was noticed after the Ignore User mod was installed. A few weeks earlier, we upgraded to SMF 1.0.5 and TP 1.052, but did not notice any issues. Nothing else has been installed recently.

Correct. Insert Quote still does not function even after removing the Ignore User mod and manually replacing all modded files back to previous versions. Now, those files were pre-IgnoreUser, but post-TP1.052.

Attach your /Themes/default/Post.template.php file here.

Can you also provide us a test login account so we can take a look at this?

It seems to be. What about script.js and xml_topic.js?

[edit]
Can you attach Display.template.php?

script.js and xml_topic.js appear to be the same.  Display.template.php attached.

Sorry for the delay. What custom theme are you using?

Can you PM me a test login? Please note that I'd prefer to be able to test on the default theme as well, so make sure you allow the membergroup for my account to choose themes.

Helios Multi for TP

Just sent you a PM. Thanks.

1) Does either issue happen when you go to Admin > Features and Options > Basic Features tab and disable "Search engine friendly URLs"?

2) If the issue(s) still happen after disabling the above, I suggest this course of action:

0. Get a full backup of your forum database and files.
1. Uninstall TP.
2. Overwrite all SMF files using the SMF 1.1.5 Large Upgrade package (except upgrade.php and the two .sql files). Make sure that Settings.php and Settings_bak.php are not touched.
3. See if the issues happen in the default theme.
4. Install TP.
5. See if the issues start to happen -- again, test with the default theme.

If they don't happen before installing TP or before using the Helios theme, but they happen after, I suggest you take it up with the TP people over at tinyportal.net.

Let us know how it goes. :)
