No error log, Just not uploading, and ive changed it to 50mb i think it was. has i thought that may have been the error but it wont even upload two 1mb images?

I outlined the steps in reply 4693, it is in admin, when trying to resequence some general sub-albums.  I haven't tried anything else yet, i.e. top-level albums or user albums.

Okay, so that's in General albums.
I can confirm that I haven't changed anything in that area in recent releases... :-/
Maybe I inadvertently flushed away the order system when rewriting the album list feature, but then again... Did you try reinstalling RC2, just to be sure it worked in that version? If it worked with it, then it's something I can look into. If it used to work in an earlier SMF2 public beta, then it's still my fault, but it'll be harder to spot.

when i try to do a mass image upload its not working correctly?

I have tried 5 images and once i click upload, it starts to upload then stops after first image then i have to click upload again.

Is this correct?, Once its finished and both uploading progress bars say 100% and i click submit it only showing one image uploaded?

Dragooon, this has nothing to do with crossdomain... The crossdomain "bug" prevents the user from getting a file selection box when clicking Browse.

The second bug usually happens after finishing the first item upload. Usually, the same error will be reproduced by using the single form upload (which is way easier to debug), and it's generally due to: max internal PHP upload size limit being reached (hence why I added these variables in the admin area, although apparently it's still too complicated for some to understand, because they don't read the description or something ), or mod_security bug. I think the mod_security thing can be fixed, but ONLY by SMF itself -- I don't think it's SMG's role to fix a SMF/mod_security incompatibility. The solution is quite simple when you think of it: get a copy of the display buffer and replace all ;id with &id with a simple preg_replace like this:

$buffer = preg_replace('~(' . preg_quote($scripturl, '~') . '[^][<>"]*);id~', '$1&id', $buffer);

It's off the top of my idea so it may be buggy. It only needs to be done when in_array('mod_security', get_apache_modules()) returns "true", of course. (Uh, I guess most people here will nod with a smile wondering what the heck I'm talking about, sorry )

In your case meehan, I'd need to know what error message you get when trying to upload the same file by single upload form.

I really appriciate your help and i think that seems to have fixed the errors, But may i ask if we dont know anything about mods, and theres so many to have why dont it say will conflict with certain mods, Nothing has told me that the mods conflict and theres no errors in error log anymore!

I've seen SMF installs you people wouldn't believe. Failed mods on fire off the should of PHP. I watched error messages glitter in the dark near the Homepage gate. All those bugs will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to debug.

Welcome to my place. By the way, that's exactly what you did... You asked for help, then you said it was only two minutes, and then you asked for help on mass upload (which is the single most documented issue in SMG, either here or over at smf-media.com.)

So, yeah, I'm considering asking for $$ in exchange for services I usually do for free. Because that's the price of saving you the time to go through the forums and read how to fix your problems by yourself (which you could, since I've been debugging these things in public for months and months now.)
You could also ask for help from SMF support helpers etc. They will gladly help but they may not be available all the time.

I just tried to make the SMG tag not work in SMG 1.5.6, and I can't.

First, I started the post with the plain text editor active, manually entered the SMG tag, clicked the "A" to switch to the WYSIWYG editor, and the tag stayed in tact.  Then I switched back to the WYSIWYG editor, and the tag was still in tact.

Oh really... Then why the heck did I waste time making that work? Uh... Headache incoming.

At no time was the SMG tag decoded, regardless of which editor was active, and it always posted the image from the gallery without fail, all with the WQR mod installed and running.

Can you PM Antechinus and ask him to come over and discuss this with me? I don't want to bother him myself
Or maybe Karl, since he developed the original mod... Maybe he would know. But I'm not sure he's much available these days.

I tried to give upload access to user album via the new permission system, but it is not working for me. Currently using RC2 thou.. have not upgraded to RC3+ yet.

If at some point in time I'm satisfied enough with SMG and the lack of work needed to support it etc., I may continue adding features to it after 2.0 and will consider this.

That's my idea:

- rename "general albums" to "featured albums",
- therefore allow admins to put a user album to the spotlight (i.e. the homepage),
- consider all albums to be "user albums" and when adding/editing them, instead of offering a list of membergroups with a checkbox for "view" permission, I'll be showing two checkboxes, one for "view" and one for "upload". (If any of these are disabled, only admins & album owners will be able to interact with the album at all.)

Hmm, maybe I could even put that in 2.0 but it would need testing. And editing all albums to set upload permissions of course.

Thankyou!, When i upload a single image iam getting no errors! and the image uploads fine.

Its when i try to mass upload, it stops after the first image and sticks on 50% and then when i click upload again it uploads the first image again and not move onto second image upload?

But if i upload one image it works fine no errors!, Do you think you could take 5mins to have a look at this has you know exsactly what your looking for?

I can go onto MSN if needed?, Also i dont know how i would edit the mod_security to be honest?, Hope you can help here has iam new here and didnt really know what you ment, i could show it to my hosting and they may be able to modify the mod_security?

Officially, no. Technically, yes. He's been fixing a couple of bugs last month, but apart from that he left the project silently after it went in public 2.0 beta.

He should concider his position in this mod.

We've already discussed that. He doesn't want to hand it over to me. He gave me an admin position on smf-media.com and transferred this topic's ownership to the "SMGTeam" user which I use to update the version numbers (unfortunately, it's a "Newbie" member so none of the links work... Quite silly innit?). Over than that, I myself took the liberty to remove the call for donations from the first page of the topic because I'm not receiving shares in donations and since he's not working on SMG, I see no point in asking people to donate to him.

Maybe you should find another person or two to help with the mod?

It's become so complex at this point, I couldn't find anyone who could help, really. But I gladly accept any incoming help. These last few weeks, I implemented two fixes that were submitted to me (one for the Ajax rating process, one for album icons -- an impressive one at that, even I was a bit lost in my own code for fixing this!!). I can't, and won't force anyone to work with me/us on the project anyway, it's a voluntary job. I chose to do it, it's getting tiresome but I assume my choice. I only leave a job when it's perfect and I don't have anything left to do on it (e.g. Kyodai Mahjongg, on which I worked for 10 years -- when usually, a shareware mahjongg development process has a maximum lifetime of 3 months).

Dragooon, if you don't want to be involved in this mod anymore, then handle it to Nao 100%.

I guess it's up to him, after all he created it (v1.0.x) and I strongly respect him for that. The software itself worked before I joined. It just didn't work as well We did half of the work each on v1.5, and pretty much the same for v2.0 as well. After a year of work, it didn't come out as a shock that he wanted out. I just would have appreciated if he could have told me back when he left (around June).

Anyway -- long story short: I can live with it just fine, all I'm asking is that, as long as I'm the only working on SMG, no one else makes money on SMG or associated. (I'm referring to a mod for SMG that someone advertised without consulting with me before. A mod that supposedly adds a feature that I said I would add to Foxy! in the near future... Since I barely sold 5 or 6 copies of it for 3 months' worth of work, it's understandable that I have a hard time accepting that kind of double-crossing stunt. Maybe that's just me but...)

You mean if you upload an image through mass upload, it works, but if you try uploading two images, it crashes after the first one is done?
Does the first image show up in your gallery in both cases?

Mass upload issues usually take more than 5 minutes. Yesterday it took me 20 minutes to debug a site where the only issue was with the PHP upload size. (I didn't think of it immediately, as I'm so used to getting mod_security errors...)

No it only uploads the image in single upload and displays the image!

But it pases half way through and stops uploading, and when i click upload again it uploads the first image again and doesnt change to second image.

And on the mass upload no sorry none off the images get uploaded, only when using single uploader.

I cant even upload one image in either mass upload or single upload. Image file size is 347kb, 2848x3134 pixels. Screen goes blank and nothing happens.
Max file size is set to 2500kb and dir size is unchanged at 54100kb.

Any suggestions?

edit: uploading image file with 157kb in size and 500x600 pixels was problem free.

could there be a problem with the built in resizer?

edit: Resizing images to 640x480 solved the mass upload problem. Althoug, problem with auto resizing still excists then :S

edit: mass upload button dont work in IE8 for me. Nothing happens when clicking it. The file browser dont pop up. In Firefox it's fine.

I am newbie both to SMF (using 1.1.10 for a few weeks now) and SMG. I just installed SMG-mod and it works simply fine but still I have some questions to be answered:
- why is it only visible to me as administrator? (yes, I have given permission to regular members to access the gallery and so on)
- why is the gallery only accessible through PROFILE?

What specialists make people pay for, is not related to their "30 minutes of work", it's more related to "the 3 weeks of work it would have taken you to do the same."

Greetings.

I installed SMG on my forum and all works fine. Except one thing: I can't see the images uploaded.
After upload a single image, it can't be seen.
Also in the "Size" info it says "0 KB", but if I press on "Download" it can be downloaded with no problems.
