Your installion path must be wrong, be sure to check the details from awardspace...
in most cases, it be something like

/www/ninjanation.awardspace.com/forums/

-EDIT-
You have to use your FTP account, not your database one, your database account will need to be entered 'after' the FTP one has been entered.
SMF is FTW

You are prob best contacting Awardspace if you don't know your FTP path, as i said in most cases, it would be something like

/www/ninjanation.awardspace.com/forums/

for example, my SMF installation path was

/www/elitesofchaos.net/forum.elitesofchaos.net/
SMF is FTW

Like the previous poster, your best bet would be to contact your host and ask them for the info's that you require.  Since every host is different no one here (unless they have an account with that particular host) can tell you what to look for. And more than likely You will get a quicker response from your hosts support team than in the smf community since this isnt an SMF issue.
