upgrading to 2.0b4

Hello

I've first tried to make this upgrade on a second database on the distant server (which has safe mode on)
Then, since it doesn't run, I tried on local server (wamp server)

I have :
- done a repair settings : ok
- verified the path for templates in smf_themes : ok
- verified the path in smf_settings and settings.php
- verified, optimized and repaired the wholedatabase
- uploaded the content of upgrade pack (2.0b4) on the ftp, and the content of french utf8
- run upgrade.php

...

And can't go further than the backup of smf_attachment or creating indexes for smf_messages... :s

Could you help me please ?

The bug appears with this operation :
 
         Error retrieving information on step:  Updating indexes on "messages"...

Do you get any errors or does it just freeze on updating the messages index?

Can you remove your language files and just use English first to see if the upgrade will go through? Then install the French UTF-8 language files back if the upgrade to SMF 2.0 b4 is successful.

How did you know that I had language files ? lol
But you're right, this was the problem for this step.
I have delete language files and only add them for step 5 : the upgrade goes fine.

Why this?

Normally if we don't put the good languages version files, the check in the install say us that files are outdated...so why this problem and why this solution?
