Simple feature (new replies to posts)

I am a member of a forum using this software and made a feature request, the site administrator directed me here and it has been suggested I ask for the feature to be added to "The Official SMF2 Release".

The feature I wish to request is where the link "Show new replies to your posts." is to add a counter.

Example: Show new replies to your posts. (0)

As I am forever clicking it and seeing I have no replies.

It sounds like a good idea. I would like to see this as well.

It sould be fairly easy to do, I will try to make some edits and then post back.

I haven't approved or can approve anything, the adding of features is ultimately up to the devs. By the way, SMF 2 is now feature locked so new features like this may not be added.

That doesn't stop people from working out ways of editing SMF's code so that it has that feature, that is what I am trying to do.

Another idea, how about on topics when you "mouseOver" them a tooltip or overlib displays showing the first say 100 characters of the topic?

Both of these can both be done with mod if you really want them. I dont see a true need for them in the core and the new replies to your posts can possible cause performance issues.
