I love the simple machines forum! Have just installed one hxxp:www.independentwebadvice.co.uk [nonactive]

Have downloaded the AddThis social bookmarking mod. But what do I do with it now?

Do I upload it to the Packages folder? Or do I run the install.xml file from the admin? But there is also the packageinfo.xml as well.

Uploaded a theme without any probs at all, and the recent upgrade from 1.16 to 1.17 worked perfectly.

I know I have to edit one of the template files, but how do I install the mod (the first of many I will be adding hopefully). I almost went with Vanilla forum before finding the Simple Machines Forum. It really is good and so far I have not had a single hiccup with installation nor setting up. I started with a really complicated board layout but have since become more realistic and have simplified it considerably.

I have searched and checked the online manual so I hope there is not something really obvious I have missed.

Your help is much appreciated (as too is your fabulous forum software)  :)

Yup, simply use the Package Manager to upload the packages(MODs) from your computer.
If you need help on how to do it, post.

Wow, that was quick - thank you.

From the package manager I cant select the entire folder, so do I browse to the install.xml file? And upload just that? Or do I do the install and then the package-info.xml file.

Sorry to be a pain - and thank you.

Anytime.
And yes, the MOD should be in a compressed package. Like a .zip or anything with a compressive extension.

So upload the ENTIRE package in the Package Manager, and see what happens.

Wow!!! Fantastic!

What a superb package manager!

So it was the whole zip file I had to upload. How simple can that be, I do not even have to unzip the download!

I just cant believe how good this is! And I have used loads of open source packages, this is brilliant!

Thank you for your help.
