Hello,

Check that all your themes have the good path in the "themes settings".

Yea theme path is absolutely correct

No, look for all themes ... I've got this error after upgrading to beta 4 and all mys paths were 777 chmoded.
In my case it was a theme I was not using that have a wrong theme

So as you seem to have exactly the same problme, you should check that and not only for your current theme but for all!

lol well.. i'm just glad i have no traffic in mine..  from 1.7 to 2.4 the whole thing stopped meaning i have to redo the whole thing from scratch.. so now i have the same problem.

"Could not upload package, please check directory permissions! "  followed that you guys wrote here and still no go.. my problem is within uploading the packages.

swtdivalove

Download SMF 1.1.6, replace the Packages.php with the 1.1.6 version.

Create a 'temp' directory, chmod to 777 inside the packages directory.

You may need to also check that you have your public_html directory writable also.

Bigguy

Replace the Packages.php in the Sources folder should solve the problem yes. Thanks for posting that swtdivalove. :) I just found a bug report on it now. :)

Replace Packages.php with what, new file from smf2,0 or older version.

My SMF2.0 was wotking ok, I could install packages with no problem.
Then for unknown reason it stopped.
Now when I am installing package all files which needs to be modified are ignored and SMF tells me everything is installed ok.

If before installation I cmod all used files to 777 then it woks.
Any idea?

Bigguy

Replace the packages.php with the same one from a zip file of the SMF version you are using. This might not be your problem though zijO.

zijO

Thanks, i did it and it looks as it is ok .

Wondering how file can be changed?

Bigguy

Not to sure. Good to know you got it fixed though. :)

zijO

Ooops, I test it with file which was ok.
I tried to install another package and it is same.
All files which needs to be modified in preinstaltion show as ok.
But they do not get modified.
If I want to uninstall package I get all errors since no files has been modified.

I am wondering which parts of smf are responsible for changing file permissions during installation.
I wouldn't say it is a host problem since I am running SMF in public_html and another test part in test folder works ok.

I moved my smf from another host. I did run repair_settings.php
And I installed few packages without problem. Then the problem come up.

Also I noticed that in db there is a table
package_path==== public_html/forum

Since I changed path  to public_html I changed it in db as well since repair_settings.php did not do it.
