FileZilla Server version 0.9.30 beta
Copyright 2001-2009 by Tim Kosse ([email protected])

This current version insists on a port # between 1 and 65535

Maybe if we call the webhost service, they'll let us know what range of ports or a specific port # they require?

Otherwise, this is all I get:

Connecting to server...
Error, could not connect to server
Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds
Reconnecting to server...
Error, could not connect to server
Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds
Reconnecting to server...

Are you using "ftp.RestoreTheConstitutionalRepublic.com" as the url?

RLawrence

Hadn't used that ...

But still get this when using:

That's well-weird, then. I just added that url into the "Host" box, hit "Quick connect" and I'm getting in, without a hitch.

It's not your firewall blocking it, is it?

RLawrence

Sorry for the delay ...

I went into XP's firewall, allowed Filezilla AND opened the default port Filezilla port #14147.

Still that connection to server lost cycle  :(

Yet DOS got right in ... can transfer files, but there's no 'send' command.

RLawrence

You'll never guess what I did ...

Check out the following filezilla page: http://filezilla-project.org/

I saw the tab/button that said Windows Only and downloaded that one ...

But that is the Server version, not the client ... you gave me the clue when you mentioned putting the 'url' in a 'hostbox' ... I didn't have one  :(

Anyway, now that I download the latest 3.2.1 Windows CLIENT version ...

Everything is WONDERFUL!!!  Filezilla is a marvel  ;) ... Thank you!

Now I have to dig up a reference for FTP commands and we'll be set to go!

That's a DOUBLE 'solved' Kat ... can't thank you enough!

KUDOS to the SimpleMachineForum Support team for providing this extraordinary (and witty) support!!!

We just got bit in the ar$e ...

A weird error, prevented us from getting in to the forum:

Template Parse Error!

There was a problem loading the /Themes/default/index.template.php template or language file. Please check the syntax and try again - remember, single quotes (') often have to be escaped with a slash (\). To see more specific error information from PHP, try accessing the file directly.

You may want to try to refresh this page or use the default theme.

syntax error, unexpected ','

Now we can get into the forum, but we see an alert ... a WARNING!

!!MAJOR SECURITY RISK:
You have not removed install.php!

Any thoughts ???  ... just remove the 'install.php' file?
